Summary: This App is for internal use by MSPSBS teachers and staff to manage attendance and related student records. Access is role-based. Only selected roles (such as administration and registration) may view sensitive student profiles and teacher contact details. All users must handle information confidentially and follow school policies.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By using the MSPSBS QR-ID Attendance App (“the App”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree with these Terms, you should not use the App.
2. Purpose of the App
The App is designed to enable authorized staff of Maktab Sains Paduka Seri Begawan Sultan (MSPSBS) to securely record, view, and manage student attendance and associated school records using Google Sheets and related tools.
3. Authorized Users and Roles
The App is for use only by MSPSBS teachers, administrators, and relevant staff. Unauthorized access is prohibited.
Each user is assigned a role (for example, form teacher, administration, registration), which determines what they can view and edit in the App. In particular:
- General teaching roles (e.g., form/class teachers) can typically access attendance records and basic student identifiers for their assigned students.
- Selected administrative roles (such as administration and registration roles) may be granted additional access to student profiles and teacher contact information.
- Users must not attempt to bypass or undermine these role-based restrictions.
4. User Responsibilities
- Use only your assigned teacher code and password, and keep your credentials confidential.
- Ensure that any data entered (attendance, comments, notes) is accurate, respectful, and consistent with school rules.
- Access and use information only for legitimate school-related purposes within the scope of your role.
- Do not share screenshots, exports, or copies of data with unauthorized persons.
- Immediately inform the school administration if you suspect that your account has been compromised.
5. Use of Student and Staff Information
All information accessible within the App—whether concerning students or staff—is to be treated as confidential school data.
5.1 Student Profiles and Sensitive Data
Some roles (for example, administration and registration) may view additional student profile details, which can include home address, parent/guardian contact details, emergency contacts, and medical alerts relevant to safety in school.
- You must only view or use such information when it is necessary for your official duties (e.g., emergency contact, welfare follow-up, discipline and registration matters).
- You must not disclose or discuss sensitive details outside appropriate professional contexts.
5.2 Teacher Contact Details
Teacher phone numbers and internal contact lists may be available to specific administrative roles for coordination of attendance, scheduling, welfare, and other official school activities.
- You must not use these contact details for personal, commercial, or non-school-related purposes.
- You must not forward or share staff contact lists to external parties without proper authorization.
5.3 Prohibited Uses
- Using App data for any kind of commercial or advertising purpose.
- Sharing login accounts or impersonating another staff member.
- Exporting or copying data for non-official or personal use.
- Any misuse of student or staff information that could invade privacy, cause harm, or breach school policy.
6. Data Ownership and Storage
- All data (attendance records, student profiles, and related information) is owned by MSPSBS.
- Data is stored in Google Sheets and school-owned Google Drive accounts controlled by MSPSBS.
- The App does not sell or share data with external third parties or advertisers.
7. Security
MSPSBS takes reasonable steps to protect the security of the App and the data within it, including:
- Using Google’s encryption in transit and at rest;
- Applying access controls and role-based permissions;
- Maintaining audit trails of changes where possible.
Users also share responsibility for security by following good practices such as not sharing passwords, logging out from shared devices, and reporting suspicious activity.
8. Limitation of Liability
The App is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. While reasonable efforts are made to ensure reliability, MSPSBS does not guarantee that the App will be uninterrupted or error-free.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, MSPSBS is not liable for any loss or damage arising from:
- Misuse of the App or data by users;
- Sharing or disclosure caused by users (e.g., sharing screenshots or exports with unauthorized persons);
- Technical issues beyond reasonable control, including internet outages or third-party service disruptions.
9. Suspension or Termination of Access
MSPSBS may suspend or terminate a user’s access to the App at any time if:
- There is suspected or confirmed misuse of the system or data;
- The user violates these Terms or other school policies;
- Access is no longer required for the user’s role at the school.
10. Changes to the App and Terms
MSPSBS may update the App (including features, roles, and permissions) from time to time. These Terms may also be updated to reflect changes in functionality, legal requirements, or school policy.
When material changes are made, the effective date at the top of this page will be updated. Continued use of the App after changes have been published will be treated as acceptance of the revised Terms.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of Brunei Darussalam. Any disputes will be handled in accordance with MSPSBS policies and applicable law.
